Every Monday, we are going to be featuring on our blog a makeover project or room that one of our Barnard Speziale designers has recently completed. Enojy our first entry!
This room began as a small dated living/dining room combo, that was hardly used by the homeowners, and directly adjacent to the kitchen and family room. Turning it into a casual, everyday dining room was the ideal solution with a touch of glamour and sophistication for those more formal dinners. Host and hostess chairs in a bold pattern fabric from Kravet really liven the space, as well as the blue accent wall and drapery. The gorgeous walnut table was treated with a hard lacquer shield for extra durability and can extend up to 114″ to seat 10 people–talk about flexibility!
Critical to this complete kitchen renovation was to widen the entrance (on right) to create a more open plan with the rest of the main floor. All new cabinets, quartz countertops, mosaic tile backsplash, lighting and appliances work together to create a very functional and visually appealing space. Plus, the raised bar area hides the sink and all the dirty dishes from your guests!
This family bathroom was a complete gut and a huge transformation! The old tub/shower was discarded for a fully tiled, glass shower enclosure where cost effective tile was used in creative ways to achieve a high-end look. A new espresso custom vanity, quartz countertop and undermount sink complete the room, with artwork and accessories providing just the right amount of colour needed.
